Our Practice Director Darren Starr has a Bachelor of Planning with Honours from the University of South Australia and is a Registered Planner (RPIA).  

Darren has many years experience as a Planning Manager, Team Leader, Project Manager, Strategic Planner and Senior Town Planner in local government, state government and the private sector. This included a number of years as the Manager of Planning and Development at a major South Australian growth Council and as National Town Planning Leader for a multidisciplinary consulting firm. 

Darren has substantial experience in strategic and statutory planning through a diverse career involving the assessment and facilitation of complex development applications  stakeholder and community engagement, development of strategic plans and local policy amendments and the design of land division proposals. 

Darren is an active member of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) where he has undertaken a variety of roles including Chair of the Urban and Regional Planning Chapter, Chair of the South Australian Management Committee and he is a past South Australian President of PIA. 

Darren regularly presents at seminars and conferences and lectures in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of South Australia.
